Do we need audited financial statements to bid in Iraq?

Summary

Check the tender or registration requirements first. The buyer may require independently audited statements for specified periods. Organising the underlying records helps prepare for that request, but it does not itself provide an independent audit opinion.

Read the buyer’s financial-document requirements

Establish which statements the buyer requests, which periods they must cover and whether an independent audit is required. Use the current tender or registration instructions, including any amendments.

A requirement from one route does not establish what every buyer in Iraq will request.

Check eligibility before preparing the bid

If audited financial statements are an eligibility requirement, missing them may prevent a compliant submission. Check the instruction and any permitted clarification process before assuming other records will be accepted.

The document periods, required signatures and submission format should be recorded alongside the rest of the tender requirements. Keybridge prepares the agreed response; your company reviews, approves and submits it.

Organised records support the next review

We begin with the records already held at your company: receipts, invoices, contracts, accounts, returns already filed and tax-payment evidence. We compare the supporting documents with recorded revenue and taxes paid, organise the records and identify missing documents or unexplained differences.

Organising records and issuing an independent audit opinion are separate tasks. The buyer’s requirement determines what additional assessment is needed.

Prepare for a government audit request

If a government audit has been requested, identify the records, periods and deadline named in the request. Keybridge arranges an on-site review of the available receipts, contracts, accounts, previous filings and tax-payment evidence.

Your company clarifies transactions and provides missing evidence. The authority conducts the audit and determines its findings.

Keep the requested periods and dates clear

Different buyers and registration routes can request different reporting periods and updates. Check the current request and keep the underlying records organised.

The agreed scope should identify any continuing support. Responsibility for new filings, signatures or communication with an authority must be confirmed separately.

Review the records on site and investigate differences

Keybridge arranges an on-site review and compares the records with the revenue recorded and taxes paid. Missing evidence and unexplained differences are identified for follow-up.

Your company confirms the facts and approves corrections. Bookkeeping and filing explains the work and its boundaries.

Start with where the records are held and what has been requested
